Tuesday 29th September - 2.30 pm: With Power Up scheme from Energy Saving Trust

Western Power provides four Power Up advice hubs across their operating regions to support vulnerable customers and address fuel poverty.

Energy Saving Trust delivers the Power Up service across South Wales and provides advice to customers on the Western Power priority service register by phone and via home visits.

The advice provided by Energy Saving Trust helps customers save energy, reduce their bills and benefit from a range of additional support services.

Tuesday 6th October - 2.30pm: With Kate Clements from Small Woods / Coed Lleol

Trees are life-giving. They offer shelter, habitats, food and building materials for living creatures. Small woods can also be a place for people to grow and flourish too.

Coed Lleol (Small Woods Wales) connects people and nature the woodland way. We help individuals and woodlands in Wales to flourish and grow through woodland activities, events and training in their local areas.

Stay on, if you like and join Kate for half an hour at the end of the session from 3.30pm to find out how to identify nature and see how you get on in the fun quiz at the end.

We're an unstoppable community of people in Wales who won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve. Together with our 20 local Minds in Wales we're committed to improving mental health in this country. Together we're Mind in Wales.

We lead on Wales-wide initiatives to support people in their communities.

Thursday 1st October - 7pm: Confidence session with Caroline Davies

Come and join us for this first of a series of 4 sessions we’ll be running over the few months with Caroline Davies.

Caroline has been coaching since 2005 helping to empower individuals by helping them make, meet and exceed their goals/objectives however small in both their private and individual life.

Confidence, needs and wants is our first session. We will look at what confidence means to you, how to increase your confidence and self belief.

Monday 5th October - 1pm: Managing your Mind - Anger

Join us for a 2-hour session on Anger Management, with SURE for Mental Health, where we will look at what makes us angry, signs of anger, triggers to anger, how we can diffuse situations and the importance of self-care. By the end of the session you will be able to describe, recognise and identify what makes you or the person you care for angry and identify early warning signs of aggression and how to deal with this.

Friday 9th October - 10.30am: Sensory Enrichment through Nature - Smell

Join us for a 60 minute session where we will be joined by Jodi Marshall from Small Woods, who will show us how plants in nature are related to smell, how to make a healing/scented balm and look at how smell connects you to nature.

Monday 12th October - 6pm: Mindfulness

It's easy to get caught up in a pattern of swirling thoughts—thinking about a laundry list of things that need to be done, ruminating on past events, or could-be situations of the future—and learning mindfulness can help. But what exactly is mindfulness?

It can be defined as a mental state that involves being fully focused on "the now" so you can acknowledge and accept your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment. Mindfulness meditation is a mental training practice that teaches you to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both your mind and body.

Wednesday 14th October - 2.30pm: Self Care

Please join us for our second session with Abbie Fish, we’ve already covered Life in Lockdown, this time we’ll reflect on how we really feel about, and the barriers to, taking care of ourselves as our first priority.

We all know we need to do it, but how? We'll chat about different ways to Self-Care for your mind, body and soul, that go deeper than the stereotypical self-care bubble bath!

You'll be guided to explore the most supportive self-care for you as an individual, so that you can enjoy a healthier, happier lifestyle (which overflows to those you
care for).

Abbie is a Self-Care Coach who supports people to put their own health and happiness first, for the benefit of themselves AND their loved ones.

In a society that has brought us up feeling that Self-Care is selfish, Abbie believes that a Self-First approach is win-win and actually essential for our collective health. Abbie offers 121 Coaching and Self-Care sessions which are relaxed, informal and have a focus on discovering what works for you as an individual.

Thursday 22nd October - 3pm: Post Lockdown Anxiety

The pandemic has had a huge impact upon us all in differing ways. However, there are some amongst us for whom this has created great anxieties - firstly with the lockdown and the changes we had to make, and now with the easing of lockdown, the changes we are facing again. There is a level of anxiety that is being felt alongside this easing and it is hoped through this webinar we will have the opportunity to help you address some of those anxious feelings, whilst allowing you the opportunity to explore your own feelings about the situation and what it means to you.

During this workshop we will be creating a dreamcatcher by using vintage doilies. We will be creating a totally unique dreamcatcher, unlike any you’ve seen before. These delicate decoration is prefect to hang in your bedroom or living room.

Friday 30th October - 7pm: Sleep Therapy with Nicola Armstrong-Pruce

Nicola will welcome you in taking the first steps in moving forwards towards a more full filling night’s sleep, she will look at sleep issues, whatever they may be, which can be discussed, acknowledged, accepted and addressed.

Lack of sleep can cause everyday frustrations, come along, and learn how to break free of habits that no longer serve you.

Nicola is a fully qualified, experienced counsellor with a strong person-centred base, warm, compassionate, and accepting of whatever you choose to bring to the session. Nicola is passionate about her work and genuinely cares for her clients.

Nicola is very skilled in picking up on what is not said, which can be more important than what is said.

This session is for up to 2 hours.
